This year’s squad will have a new look with Jean-Philippe Asselin taking over as head coach along with Sean Hall as an assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

Recruiting talented players is always a key component to any successful program. The Gee-Gees have done another job outstanding this year bringing in quality individuals to play in the Garnet and Grey.

The following players are the face of the football program’s future and will be around uOttawa for the next four to five years.

“I am very happy with the talent level of all our recruits this year,” said head coach Jean-Philippe Asselin. “I am looking forward to see how they perform during the regular season and am confident they will add to the depth of the Gee-Gees roster this year and for the future.”

  • Jordan Bortolotti (Windsor, Ont.) is a transfer from Windsor University.

The Gee-Gees begin the 2010 regular season on Monday, September 6, 2010 against the Western Mustangs at Frank Clair Stadium at 1 p.m.

Luigi Costanzo’s name among the coaches catches my eye.  He had been the Head Coach of the Jr Riders since 2004 and his departure seemed sudden (at least from the outside looking in).  This explains it.

The ten recruits that were enrolled in January and therfore attended spring practice are left off this list. They are on the “FootballChat “list you posted previously.
